Each moment with Rhett is truly a treasure. He is, without a doubt, my once in a lifetime Vizsla.
Rhett easily finished his show championship within a few weekends. The day after going Best of Winners for a 5-point major, he won the prestigious Vizsla Club of Metro Atlanta Specialty show to become a BISS. During the next year, he was shown as a Special and finished 2010 ranked as the #3 Vizsla. Additionally, Rhett became only the second Vizsla in AKC history to become a Grand Champion.
Rhett’s heart is definitely not in the show ring, but in the bird field. I knew we had something special when he found 13 birds in his first junior hunter test! Rhett has incredible intensity, drive and style when on birds.
In 2015, Rhett adeptly finished his Master Hunter. Proudly, I completely trained and handled my first gundog! Our next goal is Rhett’s field championship. As of 2015, Rhett was the highest ranked Vizsla Grand Champion to earn a Master Hunter title.
Most importantly for both a gundog and a great performance dog, Rhett is supremely biddable and a complete pleasure to train. A better companion and snuggler cannot be found anywhere!
